To anyone who might still care about Halo, lol, Halo Waypoint was released today for people who have signed up for the Xbox Preview Program. If you are not familiar with Waypoint, it is intended to be a centralized hub on your xbox for all things Halo, including a feature that tracks your achievements across all 3 Xbox 360 Halo games. Also included are Avatar awards given out for certain ODST achievements. There are a few shirts, the ODST armor, ODST helmet, Recon helmet, and a Guilty Spark prop. There are also, I guess you would call them Medals, earned by completing related achievements across different games. For example, one medal is given out for finding all the skulls in Halo3 and Halo Wars.

Future updates will include the Halo anime being released on Waypoint first sometime this year. All the new features that are part of the Preview Program, which also includes the Facebook, Twitter, and Last.fm apps, will have their official full release on Nov. 5th. The best thing about Waypoint is that it is totally free, although presumably you will have to pay for stuff like the anime and anything else like that when it comes out. So even if you don't play Halo anymore, you could still check it out and see what you think.

When the update goes live on November 5th, there will be a new tab called Community. That's where you will find Facebook, Twitter, and Waypoint.
